Handmade Christmas Ornaments
So every year the wife and I make each other a Christmas ornament. We don’t buy each other gifts, so this ornament is a Big Deal™.
Throughout the years I’ve done different stuff. Early on I put in… Less effort than I should have. She did, at one point, receive a pine cone with pom-poms glued all over it. I should remind you that I was a grown man of 34 years old at the time.
This past year I really outdid myself though…

Truly, a more incredible Christmas ornament cannot exist. I have achieved the apex of my ornament creation prowess and will never be able to top this.
Basically I:
Made the design in Canva
Sublimated it onto wood
Cut it out using Lightburn’s “Print and Cut” feature.
I also found a picture of last year’s ornament. We both love Pokemon Go and are avid players. My wife’s favorite Pokemon is Eevee, so I designed this for her.
I designed this in Fusion 360, although I can’t take credit for the Eevee. I’m pretty sure I snagged it from Thingiverse and dropped it into the model.

I resin printed it the file, airbrushed it black, and achieved the metallic finish with RubNBuff.
I have since become a huge fan of RubNBuff. You have to respect it (a little goes a long way) but it provides an incredible finish.
See ya’ later fellow Makerinator!
