Custom Checkers
Some good friends of ours have a young daughter. We’ll call her “Mel” (not her real name).
Anyway, she loves playing games. All kinds of game actually. Her dad has done an incredible job of introducing her to both board games and video games. She’s a really, really smart kid.
Anyway, he found his old Connect 4 set from when he was a child and wanted to share it with her. The problem is that it was missing one of the checkers.
The only solution, of course, was for me to create a whole new set of checkers for her! She also loves cats, so I created something that went along with that.
These were designed in Fusion 360. I started by measuring one of the existing checkers. I then modeled something new based off those dimensions.
They were resin printed using Elegoo Tough Eco Resin. I then airbrushed them black, and used RubNBuff to get the metallic finish. Finally I put some clear varnish on them to protect them from chipping.
See ya’ later fellow Makerinator!
